Meeting Description :

The 3rd International Scientific Conference – Georgian - Ossetian Relations - History and Modernity (dedicated to Academician Giorgi Akhvlediani and Academician Vasil Abaevi) will take place on 13-15 October, 2017, in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Topics of the Papers :
Plenary Session : The contribution of Giorgi Akhvlediani and Vasil Abaevi to the Georgian-Ossetian Scholarly Relations

The conference will involve six sections and a roundtable for students and young scholars :

1. Literary Studies, Linguistics, Lexicology
2. Folklore, Ethnology, History, Archeology
3. Philosophy, Ethics, Religion
4. Culture and Art
5. Interdisciplinary Studies
6. Media and Mass Communication.

The aim of the conference :

International Scientific Conference ’’Georgian-Ossetian Relations - History and Modernity’’ aims at facilitating the transition to a new stage of Georgian-Ossetian relations, modern interdisciplinary research.

The conference will be attended by scholars, young researchers, governmental and non-governmental organizations, representatives of international organizations, Conflict Studies researchers, experts, and scholars of humanitarian and social-political disciplines.

13 October - Opening of the conference, welcome speeches, plenary session, sectional work ;
14 October - Sectional work, presentation of an Ossetian House in the Ethnographic Museum ;
15 October - Cultural Programme : Excursion to Kakheti, Public Celebration ’’Kostaoba’’ (Lagodekhi District, Village of Areshperani)
