Le colloque international "Humanités numériques et Iconographie. Le cas
de la peinture murale alpine" qui aura lieu à Grenoble du 28 au 29
novembre 2016, est organisé par l’Université Grenoble Alpes avec la
Maison des Sciences de l’Homme-Alpes et l’Université de Savoie
Mont-Blanc avec l’équipe Condillac –LISTIC.
Dans le cadre des réflexions conduites à la Maison des Sciences de
l’Homme-Alpes sur les liens entre Humanités numériques et Patrimoine ce
colloque international, résolument tourné vers la prospective, propose
de s’interroger sur un aspect particulier : l’accessibilité
"intelligente" aux données. Comment ouvrir à un large public — qui
pourra non seulement les échanger mais aussi en diversifier les usages
—, des données numérisées et validées scientifiquement dans le domaine
des Sciences Humaines et Sociales ? On affrontera plus particulièrement
deux questions centrales. D’une part, la nécessité de respecter la
diversité linguistique en jeu dans l’élaboration et la description de
ces données. D’autre part, la prise en compte de la multiplicité des
approches qui ont présidées à la conception et la mise en forme des
données en question.
Pour répondre à ces objectifs, nous souhaitons privilégier — sans
exclure d’autres sources iconographiques — les études de cas sur les
peintures murales des régions alpines entre le XIIIe et le XVIe siècle
qui font l’objet d’un recensement systématique dans la base de données
PREALP hébergée à la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme-Alpes.
Trois axes ont été retenus : Langues, Concepts, images. Une attention
particulière sera accordée aux réflexions portant sur les apports de la
terminologie pour traiter de la dimension linguistique, de l’ontologie
pour la dimension conceptuelle, et de la reconnaissance d’images pour la
sélection et le classement des documents iconographiques.
Ce colloque sera aussi l’occasion de constituer un réseau international
de chercheurs pour répondre aux enjeux d’un domaine en pleine mutation.

anglais ou en italien qui sont les trois langues de communication du

The international conference "Digital Humanities and Iconography - The
case of alpine mural painting", to be held in Grenoble (France) from 28
to 29 November 2016, is organised by the University of Grenoble-Alpes
(Maison des Sciences de l’Homme) and the University of Savoie Mont Blanc
(Condillac Research Group - LISTIC lab).
As part of the discussions conducted at the Maison des Sciences de
l’Homme Sciences-Alpes on the links between Digital Humanities and
Heritage, this international symposium, resolutely turned towards the
future, aims to debate one particular aspect : how to "intelligently"
access the data. How can digitised and scientifically validated data in
the field of Social Sciences and Humanities be made available to a wider
audience, that will not only share but also diversify its uses ? There
will be two pivotal topics under discussion : on the one hand, the need
to respect the linguistic diversity involved in the development and
description of such data. On the other hand, the need to consider the
multiplicity of approaches that have presided over the conceptual
modelling of the data in question.
To meet these objectives, without excluding other iconographic sources,
we draw the emphasis on case studies on the murals of the Alpine regions
from the thirteenth to the sixteenth centuries in the PREALP database,
hosted at the MSH-Alpes.
Three areas have been selected : language - concepts - images. Particular
attention will be given to reflections on the contribution of
terminology to address the linguistic dimension, of ontology for the
conceptual dimension, and of image recognition for the selection and
classification of iconographic material.
This conference is also an opportunity to establish an international
network of researchers to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing
field.
